Parenting courses

I studied parent mentoring in UCC for two years and graduated with a diploma in parent mentoring. I currently offer one to one parenting courses. Courses are designed to suit each individual’s different requirements. I have assisted many parents in having healthy relationships with their children. My parenting courses are recognised by the H.S.E., Barnardos and the Irish courts system.

In cases where separation and divorce proceedings are in the court system, many parents have found that having completed a parenting course was of great benefit to them in achieving a fairer result in relation to access of their children. The advantages of one to one parenting courses are:

  • Shorter waiting time
  • More Confidential
  • Tailor designed to suit your requirements
  • More support for you personally

Topics that are frequently disused are:

Parent /child conflicts
Discipline difficulties
Family conflicts
Partner conflicts
Improving communication
Good boundaries

Establishing good routines
Play and special time with children
The power of positive attention
Planed sanction system/time out
Dealing with tantrums
Poor bedtime routine

Anxious children
Behaviour management
Recognizing feelings
Improving eating
Promoting children’s play

I am currently updating my skills and knowledge following my original B.S.c.Hons) by continuing to attend courses and workshops to make sure that my clients benefit from, updated skills, practices and techniques from an authentic and ethical counsellor.
