Ellen is formerly of Cork ARC Cancer Support House – a voluntary organisation established to provide a holistic centre in which people with cancer and their families can find emotional support and practical help. Their aim is to provide therapies that complement the medical model, so as to make a difference to the lives of those affected by cancer.
ARC stands for Aftercare, Research Counselling. While most visitors have been referrals from hospitals, GPs and practice nurses throughout Munster, others have been attracted by the good experience of friends. Patients and relatives have found in ARC House a gentle and supportive atmosphere outside of the hospital environment.
